Captain's Log

Where Cathy comes to rant, question, giggle, smile, sing, dance, read, tell jokes, bore people, and just...have fun :]

awesome :D

We know we have souls. But we seldom consider the precious things that can be found in this soul, or who dwells within it, or its high values. Consequently, little effort is made to preserve its beauty. All our attention is taken up with the plainness of the diamond’s setting, that is, with these bodies of ours. – St Teresa of Ávila (via catholic-inspiration)

Day 21: what does your favorite tshirt look like

Because I can’t get to my raptor shirt… Annnnd I can’t show you my second favorite which is my naruto shirt. So third fave!

v_v

The moment when you realize you’ve been talking to someone who you thought you knew…. but you mistook them for someone else. Oops :p

Day 20: what you think makes someone beautiful

Finally caught up! :D

Hmmm… this one is tough. I only say that because everyone’s unique and some are beautiful on the inside and some are beautiful on the outside, and some are just beautiful all around. Beauty on the inside is what counts. And yes I can hear the whining “that’s so stereotypical. What’s new about that one?” Well here’s what’s new there’s beauty in you if you can have a thought that’s you’re own. You’re beautiful if you love and/or serve others. Beauty is in personality and quirkiness, smarts or cleverness. Beauty is in what you can create or design. Beauty is in caring. Beauty is in strength as well as weakness.

If you have even ONE of these things then you are beautiful. Pat you’re self on the back(don’t let it get to your head) and say “I’m awesome and I know it.” It’s only the truth :]

Day 19: your thoughts on your family

Late :T

Haha I love my family…. we’re a crazy bunch. There isn’t much of us unfortunately but we make due. I’ve got awesome parents that are super supportive of me(as long as I do their bidding… lol just kidding :). Three younger siblings that have been driving me crazy since they day they came home! Haha but I love those guys. We’re finally all old enough to actually do stuff together as like adults… kind of.  lol

In the extended family department I’ve got my two uncles, my two aunts, a great aunt, a step cousin, a godmother, a godfather, annnd my mom’s friends Lois and Alice. (there are a few others but I don’t know what their relative title is and I haven’t seen any of them in a long time so I won’t list them but they exist :) This extended family of mine is lol kind of a combination of silly and mature. They’re all lovable people and truly a great bunch and even though I don’t get to see any of them all that much I love them and respect them very much. I admire the wisdom of age and these guys are all older than me so…. they must be wise, right? :] Of course they are :]

Day 18: why you made your blog, why you still have it

Late :T

Well I made a blog originally because I just wanted another place to talk because I like to talk. I have this one to of course do the same but also get whatever I have on my chest off. This is where I come to let lose and pretty much be the “me” others don’t see all that much. Although, I have to say,  I’m restrained here. I actually have a few followers and I don’t particularly want to get too crazy and scare them off :]. I do like to do the typing thing though and just rant and post crazy pictures everywhere :] So yeahh… that’s why i’m still here :]

Day 17: your idol and why you look up to them

Late :T

Okay, idol… hmmm. I guess I would have to say my parents.

My mom because she’s the attitude and historian of the family. It’s always life advice in stories and she picks the best movies(and music too lol).

My dad because he’s awesome. He gives the best advice and he always tells it like it is, no sugar coatin’ on this one. If you ask him questions you’ll get a dissertation on the whole subject lol. Rahaw!

Both of this kids are so level-headed and always seem to have the answers. I’ve learned so much and I continue to learn because I get exposed to their craziness :p. They can be a little embarrassing but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I wouldn’t ever swap parents and hopefully they never decide to swap kids :D

Day 16: someone you trust

Late Entry :T

Ahaha someone I trust… okay here’s what I’m going to do. The rating of trust goes as such God, parents, friends, and so on. Because God and my parents are kind of done deals and seems to be something everyone knows I’m going to pick a friend. (haha I just realized how hard it is to pick XD)

I pick Lizzy! She’s my best friend and we’ve known each other since 6th grade. She’s kind of followed me everywhere and visa versa :p. It seems as the friend list dwindles down(sadness) she’s still there haha. If you read this Lizzy, you’re awesome and we need a Xena marathon!  love yah! haha

Btw shout-out to other trustworthy people: Maria, Thomas, David, Jordan, Sarah, Phong, and idk probably some other people. No matter how separated or little we talk, you always hold special places in my heart. I don’t know what life will bring but I’m there for you no matter what :] Love you guys.

Day 15: a song that makes you cry and why

I’m sorry this is so late :/ First I got sick and then I had school. I will be back on track though!

I don’t really have a song that makes me cry but I do have a song that always hits home and the reason it does is really in the lyrics. So without further adieu…. here are they are:

For Those Tears I Died

You said You’d come and share all my sorrows,
You said You’d be there for all my tomorrows;
I came so close to sending You away,
But just like You promised You came there to stay;
I just had to pray!

And Jesus said, “Come to the water, stand by My side,
I know you are thirsty, you won’t be denied;
I felt every teardrop when in darkness you cried,
And I strove to remind you that for those tears I died.”

Your goodness so great I can’t understand,
And, dear Lord, I know that all this was planned;
I know You’re here now, and always will be,
Your love loosed my chains and in You I’m free;
But Jesus, why me?

And Jesus said, “Come to the water, stand by My side,
I know you are thirsty, you won’t be denied;
I felt every teardrop when in darkness you cried,
And I strove to remind you that for those tears I died.”

Jesus, I give You my heart and my soul,
I know that without God I’d never be whole;
Savior, You opened all the right doors,
And I thank You and praise You from earth’s humble shores;
Take me, I’m Yours.

And Jesus said, “Come to the water, stand by My side,
I know you are thirsty, you won’t be denied;
I felt every teardrop when in darkness you cried,
And I strove to remind you that for those tears I died.”

Day 14: write about something you believe in, anything at all

I believe the children are our future. Teach well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside. :]

Lol just kidding…. I believe in Love. (i’m just pulling out the typical answers aren’t i? doesn’t make them any less true :)

Life is a long lesson in humility.
-James M. Barrie

Day 13: your favorite quote

Okay… so I have quotes I like but none summed up what I’ve been continually learning and that’s humility. It’s one thing that needs to be a constant or the world will consume you. In humility is kindness and wisdom, but above all… love.

Day 12: the best advice you’ve ever heard, or ever been given

I can’t think of the best advice but I know who gives the best advice, my parents. I know, I know, cliche right? I can’t deny it though. They have so much knowledge and wisdom and I hope someday when I settle down and have kids that I’ll able to give the same words of wisdom to them as my parents give to me.
